Aims and Context

A short film, ‘The Woods’ using the genre codes and conventions of horror, with the subgenre of psychological thriller. My target audience is 15 onwards, of both sexes.
My aim will be to explore the learning of cinematography and editing from FM1. The purpose of my film is to scare the audience and keep them on edge, and to explore the codes and conventions of my psychological thriller. ‘Sixth Sense’ and ‘Se7en’ are influences for my short film, in the sense of the dark editing, and the conventions used within these films. The roles within my project that I am undertaking are the writer, storyboard artist, producer, director, and editor.
